Requirements
- Completed master’s degree (very good results) or equivalent qualification in business administration, economics, management, industrial engineering, business informatics, or comparable field of study
- Fulfilment or ability to fulfil doctoral admission requirements at Ulm University
- Strong interest in sustainable supply chains, ESG risk management, and regulatory topics (CSDDD or German Supply Chain Act)
- Experience in data analysis and programming (e.g., Python), interest in natural language processing and large language models
- Advantageous knowledge in prompting or model evaluation
- Very good English skills (spoken and written)
- Desirable German language skills
- Valid residence or work permit for non-EU citizens
Tasks
- Develop an LLM-based ESG risk register.
- Automate mapping unstructured information to regulatory risk categories.
- Create a scalable source and data corpus.
- Develop methods for structuring unstructured information.
- Design and implement a prototype for abstract ESG risk assessment.
- Iteratively evaluate and improve the approach.
- Apply defined quality criteria and expert feedback.
- Prepare results for different target groups.
- Integrate results into internal and external formats.
- Publish research findings with Ulm University.
- Contribute to scientific dialogue on ESG, SCM, and AI.
