Optical Design Engineer, Staff / Sr Staff(m/w/x)
Designing, simulating, and tape-out of micro-optical components for photonic circuits at an AI infrastructure provider. Comprehensive experience with micro-optical component design, simulation, and tape-out, including Ansys Zemax/Lumerical, required. Significant technical autonomy in AI infrastructure development.
Requirements
- Experience in design, simulations, tape-out/fabrication, and measurements of micro-optical components, integrated photonic devices, and integrated circuits
- Deep understanding of simulation tools (Ansys Zemax, Ansys Lumerical)
- Profound understanding of optical simulation translation into 3D geometry and visualization
- Experience in measurement automation and technology transfer (plus)
- Knowledge of electronic circuits interfacing with photonic devices and integrated circuits (plus)
- Relevant research publications and/or patents in photonics (plus)
- Familiarity with programming/scripting languages (Python, Matlab, C)
- Strong technical independent contributor with results-driven ability
- Excellent teamwork, presentation, and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with global teams, deliver under pressure, and meet strict deadlines
- PhD or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Physics (preferred)
