Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field, or equivalent qualification (Master's degree a plus)
  • 1-3 years experience in mechanical design, preferably aerospace/space/high-reliability industries
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D drawing creation
  • Highly preferred Siemens NX experience
  • Solid understanding of GD&T and its practical application
  • Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes (CNC machining, turning, sheet metal, basic assembly)
  • Strong focus on DfMA (design for manufacturing, assembly, integration)
  • Advantageous interest or initial experience in space hardware design
  • Comfortable producing clear technical documentation
  • English communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Proactive mindset

  • Ability to work collaboratively

Tasks

  • Design mechanical parts, assemblies, and housings for spacecraft equipment.
  • Design 3D CAD models and production drawings using Siemens NX.
  • Apply DfMA principles for efficient, cost-effective, and repeatable production.
  • Define and apply GD&T standards.
  • Ensure proper fit, function, and interchangeability.
  • Prepare and maintain design documentation.
  • Manage drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
  • Compile design review materials.
  • Support hardware manufacturing and assembly.
  • Support hardware integration activities.
  • Perform troubleshooting and design iterations.
  • Collaborate with diverse engineering teams.
  • Ensure mechanical designs meet subsystem and system-level requirements.
  • Interface with suppliers and manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure designs are feasible, clear, and compliant.
  • Incorporate space-relevant design constraints.
  • Address launch loads and thermal environments.
  • Optimize designs for cleanliness and mass.
