Requirements

  • Master’s student in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Space Systems or related field
  • Strong foundation in Systems Engineering
  • Strong foundation in Mechanical Design (CAD)
  • Basic knowledge of Space Project Management
  • Basic knowledge of mission lifecycles (Phase A–D)
  • Proactive working style
  • Independent working style
  • Passion for lunar exploration
  • Ability to work in international, interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent English skills (written and spoken)
  • German is a plus
  • Awareness of compliance risks
  • Commitment to act with integrity

Tasks

  • Advance RAFT project through Phase B2
  • Refine mechanical and systems design of Flight Model
  • Integrate real-world test data
  • Manage complex international interfaces
  • Analyze results from NASA MSFC PLANET chamber tests
  • Coordinate follow-up test campaigns with WPI
  • Integrate design and development plans for subsystems
  • Perform detailed mechanical design and CAD modeling
  • Analyze alternative mission scenarios
  • Adapt Flight Model for various landing platforms
  • Refine system-level specifications
  • Update development plans and schedules
  • Perform updated risk analyses
  • Estimate costs
