Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Business, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification advantageous
  • 5–8 years of relevant working experience in market analysis, business intelligence, or strategy roles
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capability
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and data visualisation or statistical tools
  • Good understanding of international trade data and industry databases
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills
  • Commercial awareness and sound judgement in interpreting market trends
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages an advantage
  • Collaborative and proactive mindset with ability to manage multiple priorities

Tasks

  • Monitor and analyze global trade flows and price movements for alcohols and surfactants
  • Track competitive developments among key global producers and customers
  • Provide regular market intelligence summaries on supply, demand, and pricing shifts
  • Share relevant market data and insights with commercial teams
  • Maintain and refine a global alcohols supply-demand balance model
  • Integrate external datasets and internal inputs for comprehensive analysis
  • Identify market opportunities and risks to inform marketing strategies
  • Develop and automate dashboards and visual analytics using Power BI
  • Interpret market and trade data for evidence-based decision-making
  • Present complex information in concise formats for senior leadership
  • Support business cases for investment and capacity expansion
  • Contribute to long-range planning and strategy reviews with market outlooks
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure consistent market views
  • Translate data into actionable narratives highlighting market implications
  • Communicate findings through structured presentations and reports
  • Articulate the implications of data for commercial strategy
