Requirements
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, preferentially Inorganic Chemistry
- Minimum 3 years work experience in chemical industry or research and development
- Advanced negotiation skills and commercial workflow
- Business acumen and proficient financial understanding
- High technical understanding and very good knowledge of planning tools
- Fluency in English and Mandarin
Tasks
- Develop new business opportunities in international markets, especially in China
- Evaluate potential new application areas for alumina products
- Protect and preserve existing business relationships
- Ensure product availability and quality in collaboration with Sales and Production
- Liaise with customers for technical marketing and sales in defined regions
- Provide technical guidance for alumina research activities
- Support the IP team with internal and external topics
- Develop marketing and product strategies aligned with customer needs
- Recommend future product and technology concepts in consultation with R&T and customers
- Monitor external IP activities to identify risks and opportunities, focusing on CN patents
- Provide market input for the yearly marketing and product plan
- Screen and monitor existing and potential new markets for inorganic specialties
- Identify new target customers and develop products with customer involvement
- Ensure target sales figures are met in consultation with senior management and plants
- Develop and maintain contacts with accounts
- Establish new technical relationships in the market, particularly in China
- Support Marketing Communications in designing technical social media content
- Acquire and analyze information on competitive products and market trends
- Coordinate research and IP activities for new projects with R&D teams
