Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent
  • HSE/PSM field experience
  • Process Hazard Reviews and chemical/pharmaceutical manufacturing experience
  • Strong knowledge of environmental and occupational safety regulations
  • Technical writing experience (procedures, program documentation)
  • Authorization to work in Germany required
  • Desirable qualifications in waste management, fire protection, explosion protection, machine safety, hazardous materials management, management systems (14001/45001/50001)
  • Bilingual German/English is an advantage
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Structured, analytical working style with compliance mindset and sound judgment
  • Experience interfacing with regulatory authorities
  • Self-starter with strategic thinking and excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Tasks require access to manufacturing and laboratory areas using appropriate PPE

Tasks

  • Provide technical leadership in HSE programs
  • Serve as primary HSE contact for assigned areas
  • Support operational areas in regulatory compliance
  • Lead cross-functional teams in HSE program implementation
  • Facilitate Process Hazard Reviews
  • Support Process Safety Management
  • Assist in facility and equipment design evaluation
  • Conduct periodic inspections and internal audits
  • Coordinate regulatory reporting obligations
  • Lead incident investigations
  • Evaluate and approve Change Controls and HSE events
  • Conduct trend analyses
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Develop continuous improvement plans
  • Coach and mentor HSE staff
  • Identify best practices and simplification opportunities

Work Experience

  • approx. 4 - 6 years

Education

  • Bachelor's degreeOR
  • Master's degree

Languages

  • German – is a plus
