Requirements
- 7+ years manufacturing/production engineering (precision instruments)
- Experience setting up/scaling small-series precision production
- Familiarity with micrometre-level tolerances (GD&T, SPC, FMEA)
- Strong interface skills (R&D, supply chain, operations)
- Experience managing external manufacturing partners/suppliers
- Hands-on in early-stage environment, pragmatic, delivery-focused
- Excellent communication skills (suppliers, internal teams, leadership)
- Experience in scale-up or Series A/B environment
- Background in semiconductor capital equipment or lab automation
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems
- Experience building/leading small manufacturing/operations team
Tasks
- Own and scale end-to-end manufacturing function
- Define and implement scalable manufacturing processes
- Qualify and manage key manufacturing partners and suppliers
- Establish quality assurance processes for micrometre-level tolerances
- Collaborate with engineering team for manufacturability optimization
- Translate product changes into updated production processes
- Drive supply chain and procurement decisions
- Build production planning and capacity management
- Recruit and grow manufacturing team over time
- Deliver precision instruments to demanding semiconductor customers
- Manage production planning and supplier selection
- Ensure quality standards and documentation
- Lead and develop relationships with external suppliers
- Enforce quality assurance for every instrument shipped
- Optimize designs for manufacturability and assembly
- Mitigate supply chain risks and manage inventory
- Scale production from tens to hundreds of units per year
