Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or appropriate)
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in HW development, verification, and industrialization of In-vehicle Infotainment systems, telematics/connectivity system or other automotive ECUs
- Experience working on RF modules like 5G NADs and other wireless technology modules
- Project management experience
- Technical lead experience of HW team
- Knowledge of schematic/layout realization and simulation tools (e.g. Mentor Graphics, SPICE, …) and Microsoft applications
- Knowledge of defect management rules and tools (ticket-based systems, such as Jira or similar)
- Strong verbal and written English skills
- High creativity and solid analytical problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to articulate complex technical topics clearly and defend engineering decisions
- Structured and target-oriented working style and ability to collaborate within cross-functional engineering teams
- Experience in development of analogue, digital and RF designs, especially in wireless applications (e.g., mobile network technologies) and/or telematics systems
- Experience in analogue, digital and RF design
- Experience in requirements management (e.g. DOORS, DNG, ALM) beneficial
- Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen
- Clean driving record with no more than four (4) active points for moving violations and no references to operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances within the last 10 years
Tasks
- Lead hardware development for Harman Stratus NAD platform
- Coordinate HW-related tasks according to Harman BMS process
- Participate in the HW+ Engineering Team within SBU Connectivity
- Report to the Director, HW Core Assets
- Provide technical leadership for connectivity projects (LTE/5G/6G devices)
- Lead local HW project team and remote teams in Bucharest and Shanghai
- Act as customer interface for hardware topics
- Represent Project Manager in internal and external meetings
- Assist Project Manager in conception and commercial evaluation
- Provide technical specifications, documentation, and presentation materials
- Support Hardware Development Process according to Harman BMS guidelines
- Perform Requirement Engineering using Harman tools (Doors, DNG, ALM)
- Manage change requests and documentation
- Conduct DFMEA and other technical analyses
- Evaluate customer requirements and OEM specifications
- Estimate BOM and effort for risk management
- Analyze cost-down measures to meet HW BOM targets
- Design and integrate hardware schematics for IVI systems
- Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Software departments
- Provide maintenance support
- Support industrialization of functional items with ODM and EMS suppliers
- Analyze customer specifications and generate work packages
- Conduct design reviews at each development stage
- Collect and report project status to management
- Execute special projects as directed by superiors
