Requirements
- Fully authorized lawyer (bar examination), ideally in Germany
- Fully authorized German lawyer (Volljurist, 1st and 2nd state exam) or equivalent qualification
- Experience leading a Legal team/department
- Strong commercial acumen and risk assessment
- Excellent stakeholder management at Board and C-suite level
- Pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset
- Professional working proficiency in English
- Outstanding legal and business judgment, drafting, negotiation, analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience coordinating teams across projects, strong leadership
- Flexibility, ability to cope under pressure, manage multiple priorities
- Collaborative team player with proactive attitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint
- Significant in-house experience, ideally in technology/e-commerce/digital marketing
- Interest, knowledge, experience in online marketing and affiliate/performance marketing
- Additional languages are a plus but not required
Tasks
- Oversee all legal matters except employment law
- Serve as a trusted business partner to the leadership team
- Provide strategic legal advice to the Executive Board, CFO, and management
- Balance commercial success with legal and regulatory risk
- Handle cross-jurisdictional legal and regulatory matters
- Act as a commercially aware sparring partner to senior stakeholders
- Manage and coordinate internal and external legal projects
- Prepare and update corporate legal operations, policies, and procedures
- Ensure consistent, strategic, risk-weighted legal advice
- Support Sales in negotiating and drafting agreements
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents
- Lead on Corporate Governance, Compliance, and Risk Assessment
- Ensure clear visibility of material risks to the Board
- Monitor relevant laws and regulations
- Manage the legal department team and budget
- Evaluate results of outside counsel relationships
