Group Head – Jewelry Quality Control(m/w/x)
Establishing global QC frameworks for precious metals, gemstones, and fashion jewelry. 15+ years quality assurance experience, with 5-7 years senior leadership, required. Global manufacturing oversight, final authority for quality decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Gemology, Jewelry Design/Manufacturing, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or related field
- Graduate Gemologist (GIA) or equivalent certification (preferred)
- 15+ years Jewelry Quality Control experience, with 5-7 years senior leadership/group-level
- Strong exposure to US retail, TV commerce, or large-scale e-commerce jewelry operations
- Hands-on experience with global manufacturing (India, Asia, Europe preferred)
- Deep knowledge of gemstones, diamonds, precious metals, casting, setting, finishing, plating
- Strong understanding of global QC standards, audits, certifications, compliance
- Experience managing high-SKU, fast-paced retail jewelry environments
- Strategic leadership with strong execution capability

Tasks
- Own and define group-wide QC vision and strategy.
- Establish QC standards for precious metals, gemstones, diamonds, and fashion jewelry.
- Establish uniform QC frameworks globally.
- Serve as final authority for quality decisions, escalations, and exceptions.
- Oversee QC processes for all manufacturing units and vendors.
- Ensure supplier compliance with approved specifications.
- Ensure compliance with workmanship standards.
- Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing guidelines.
- Lead vendor audits and factory inspections.
- Develop corrective action plans.
- Ensure full compliance with US and international regulations.
- Adhere to FTC guidelines and hallmarking laws.
- Follow gemstone disclosure standards.
- Oversee gemstone certification processes.
- Ensure internal grading accuracy.
- Partner with Legal and Compliance for risk mitigation.
- Collaborate on regulatory updates.
- Improve product durability, finish, and craftsmanship.
- Reduce customer returns, defects, and complaints.
- Partner with Customer Experience and Merchandising.
- Address quality trends and feedback.
- Define and implement testing protocols.
- Test metals, stones, plating, durability, and wearability.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability.
- Manage QC reporting across all SKUs.
- Lead adoption of technology and automation.
- Integrate data analytics into QC processes.
- Build, mentor, and lead global QC teams.
- Set performance KPIs for QC leadership.
- Develop training and succession plans.
- Foster a culture of quality and accountability.
- Promote continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Buying and Product Development.
- Partner with Merchandising and Supply Chain.
- Collaborate with Broadcast and E-commerce teams.
- Support new product launches and private labels.
- Ensure strong QC governance for exclusive collections.
