Ground Segment Project Management Engineer(m/w/x)

Requirements

• University degree or equivalent in relevant discipline
• System engineering experience
• Project management experience
• Experience in ground segment systems analysis, requirements, architecture, development, integration, verification, validation, operations, maintenance
• Experience in project planning, execution, monitoring, control, or closure
• Capability to prepare and maintain services specifications
• Capability to prepare system requirements, design documents, and perform system level analyses for complex satellite systems
• Capability to prepare project forms, plans, schedules, budget, and resource plans
• Experience in writing technical requirements (preferably ECSS standards)
• Experience in project management tools and techniques utilization
• Capability to prepare and maintain ICDs (Interface Control Documents)
• Knowledge of satellite ground segment system engineering, system and software life-cycles, and standards
• Knowledge of project management processes and standards
• Requirements definition, management, traceability with dedicated tools (e.g. DOORS)
• Experience in Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) of complex systems
• Experience in testing coordination, execution, and verification activities
• Knowledge in AI/ML technologies, models, and supporting SW frameworks
• Knowledge in data distribution and dissemination
• Knowledge in ground segment monitoring
• Knowledge in archive systems
• Knowledge in computer systems, network systems, and IT security
• High degree of working autonomy
• Practical knowledge in project management standards and frameworks (e.g. PMI PMBOOK, PRINCE2)
• Fluency in English
• Practical knowledge in configuration control

Tasks

• Support defining, tracing, and maintaining technical requirements.
• Prepare and maintain design, implementation, and integration plans.
• Support IV&V planning and execution.
• Document IV&V activities, test cases, and procedures.
• Coordinate configuration baselines across systems.
• Provide engineering support for the full project lifecycle.
• Manage project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
• Ensure projects meet time, budget, quality, and scope requirements.
• Define and maintain a portfolio of ground segment services.
• Tailor declared services to customer or ground segment needs.
• Support developing ML/AI software applications.
• Provide system engineering and project management support for EUMETSAT MME services.
• Monitor ground segment hardware and report findings.
• Monitor satellites and ground stations.
• Manage computing, storage, and network infrastructure.
• Perform offline satellite analysis and reporting.
• Re-process mission data.
• Manage mission data long-term archives.
• Provide online data access.
• Distribute data in near real-time.
• Manage data circulation.
• Generate encryption keys.
• Manage data collection platforms.
