Experienced Manager - Strategic Early Engagement(m/w/x)
Shaping automotive OEM customer needs and architecture early in the pre-RFI phase. 15+ years of automotive early engagement experience required. Flexible work schedule, global friendly working atmosphere.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in business, engineering, or related field
- 15+ years of Automotive experience in early engagement/pre-sales/business development
- Confidence working with OEM stakeholders
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Ability to earn access and engagement with cross-functional customer influencers
- Ability to turn VOC and market/competitive data into clear opportunity strategies and internal actions
- Strong execution discipline: planning, prioritisation, and delivery
- Experience in a matrix setup
- Comfortable applying and reinforcing standard methods and tools
- Familiarity with pipeline hygiene, documentation, and playbooks
- Specialised depth/breadth in the field
- Independent work with guidance only in complex situations
- Ability to lead others to solve complex problems
- Ability to lead projects impacting the sub-function
- Accountability for managing external vendors
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, domestic and international
Tasks
- Drive pre-RFI customer engagement with OEM decision-makers
- Shape customer needs, requirements, and architecture early
- Build and nurture customer partnerships
- Expand engagement to planning, pre-development, tech scouting, marketing, and business leadership
- Identify, qualify, and shape new opportunities based on market trends
- Translate customer, market, and competitive insights into internal input
- Validate new product offerings with customers
- Capture actionable feedback on product fit and value
- Support early opportunity enablement with demos and showcases
- Co-create customer-facing narratives and content
- Contribute to innovative go-to-market models
- Work with OEM business teams on partnership and commercialization concepts
- Apply and promote standard methods and tools for early engagement
- Maintain accurate pipeline and engagement documentation
- Ensure transparency for CAM and pursuit planning
- Lead project work impacting the sub-function
- Coordinate external vendors for showcases and events
