Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or appropriate)
- 10 years ME development experience (Infotainment, telematics, automotive ECUs)
- Project management experience (> 5 years)
- Technical team leadership experience
- Best class knowledge in Mechanics architecture and development
- Know-how and experience in production technology/capability
- Mechanical integration of Hardware components experience
- High knowledge of automotive area requirements
- Structured and target-oriented working style
- Proven ability to collaborate within cross-functional engineering teams
- Teamwork ability with big internal/external teams
- Ability to work under pressure & difficult situations
- High level of creativity
- Solid analytical problem-solving capabilities
- Effective communication skills (technical & non-technical)
- Strong verbal and written English skills
- Good negotiation skills
- Requirements management experience (DOORS, DNG, ALM) beneficial
- Willingness to travel within German & international on demand (10-25%)
Tasks
- Lead global Connectivity Hardware Engineering Team
- Supervise Mechanical Product Development and Mechanics Engineering
- Coordinate ME-related tasks according to Harman BMS processes
- Collaborate with internal and external teams for product development
- Act as Mechanics interface to customers
- Manage mechanical design and BoM for ECU products
- Support analysis and feasibility of customer requirements
- Develop high-complexity Telematics Control Units
- Integrate and verify mechanical designs
- Collaborate globally with Hardware Engineering, System Integration, Testing & Validation, and Manufacturing
- Support industrialization, qualification, and certification
- Plan resources, projects, and budgets globally
- Execute cost-down and VAVE activities
- Participate in customer presentations and negotiations
- Support HW/ME Gate-Reviews for Telematics Projects
- Deploy and implement Harman Automotive BMS Design Process
- Lead taskforce topics and report to Top Management
- Conduct failure analysis and maintenance support
- Gather and report new customer features and innovations
- Define and specify new product features and technology strategies
- Supervise ME Engineering and ME Project Lead
- Manage direct and indirect reports globally
- Collaborate with cross-SBU and other Harman Engineering teams
- Plan and prioritize team tasks and projects
- Plan further education and training for team members
- Incorporate new employees
- Execute special projects on behalf of the disciplinary superior
- Lead ME engineering teams across regions and functions
- Collect and analyze project data for status reporting
- Generate work packages for design and verification
- Conduct design reviews for each development stage
- Support industrialization of functional items in an international environment
- Manage requirements with OEM customers, business units, and suppliers
