- Define and implement engineering processes
- Establish stage-gate processes
- Conduct formal design reviews
- Set documentation standards
- Define interface control documents
- Apply standards across disciplines
- Prevent unstructured design activities
- Coordinate engineering activities
- Align requirements and system architectures
- Resolve integration challenges
- Manage system interfaces
- Ensure subsystem and vendor compatibility
- Support integrated system architectures
- Decompose work into deliverables
- Align activities with milestones
- Partner with PMO for progress tracking
- Facilitate trade-offs and decision-making
- Ensure buildable and scalable solutions
- Challenge assumptions for value-driven outcomes
- Collaborate with suppliers
- Set technical specifications
- Support make-vs-buy decisions
- Oversee system installation
- Lead troubleshooting during build
- Ensure seamless system operation
