Requirements
- •PhD or equivalent experience in optical, electrical, mechanical engineering, physics, or related field
- •Proven experience designing, building, and operating laser diode test and characterization setups
- •Strong understanding of thermal management, reliability physics, degradation mechanisms, and lifetime testing methodologies
- •Comfortable working with large experimental datasets and applying statistical and modeling tools
- •Ability to work effectively across internal system teams and with external suppliers and collaborators
- •Consideration of component-level decisions affecting system-level performance, cost, scalability, and operational viability
- •Experience with diode-pumped solid-state lasers (DPSSL), high-average-power laser systems, or adjacent fields
- •Experience with thermal, optical, or reliability modeling tools to support predictive design and scaling

- •Develop and execute electro-optical, thermal, and reliability test protocols
- •Design, commission, and operate automated test benches for laser diode devices
- •Lead accelerated life testing and analyze degradation mechanisms
- •Build predictive lifetime and reliability models for system design
- •Collaborate with industry partners and suppliers to enhance diode performance
- •Ensure effective integration of diode technologies into laser modules
- •Analyze experimental datasets and generate technical documentation
