Developing ESA optical station engineering systems, including QKD implementation. Free-space quantum optical communication systems knowledge required. 8 weeks teleworking annually, flexible hours.
Requirements
- Experience in optical communication systems
- Experience in Quantum communication systems with focus on QKD implementation
- Experience in Free-space quantum optical communication systems
- Knowledge in Twin-field QKD and advanced quantum protocols
- Knowledge in Entanglement-based quantum systems
- Knowledge in Quantum security concepts and cryptographic implications
- Software design and development
- Algorithm development
- Fluent English (C1 or higher)
- Meet requirements for ESA PL4 level security clearance
Tasks
- Develop engineering systems for ESA optical stations
- Support definition of technical specifications and interfaces
- Participate in design reviews and acceptance tests
- Contribute to ESA technology development activities
