Data Security Specialist - Cryptography - Group Security(m/w/x)
Subject-matter expert for cryptographic and key-management protocols in a distributed cybersecurity team. Applied cryptography and PKI principles knowledge required. Support for secure systems development, cloud security concepts, and HSMs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Cybersecurity, or related field
- Hands-on experience in applied cryptography, information security, risk management, or security governance
- Strong understanding of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography (e.g., AES, RSA, ECC), cryptographic protocols, and PKI principles
- Familiarity with key-management systems, hardware security modules (HSMs), certificate lifecycle management, and cloud security concepts
- Solid foundation in security governance, security architecture principles, or risk management
- Ability to communicate complex cryptographic and governance concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and excellent problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- German language skills are a strong plus
- Highly motivated, adaptable, and proactive in learning and staying current with emerging cryptographic and regulatory developments
Tasks
- Join a geographically distributed cybersecurity team
- Act as a cryptography subject-matter expert
- Contribute to cryptographic and key-management protocols
- Support secure systems and applications development
- Ensure alignment with internal security frameworks and regulations
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, IT, and architecture teams
- Maintain and review group-wide encryption and key management rules
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal risk frameworks
- Define organizational responsibilities for cryptographic measures
- Lead periodic guideline reviews and updates
- Maintain control requirements for encryption and key management
- Oversee PKI architecture and certificate authority documentation
- Validate governance principles and access management rules
- Coordinate assurance activities and compliance oversight
- Conduct cryptographic risk assessments
- Evaluate deviations and compensating measures
- Analyse impact of policy changes and regulatory requirements
- Support audit readiness and auditor interactions
- Oversee incident response for cryptographic issues
- Provide expert guidance on cryptographic protocols and security
- Ensure compliant implementation of cryptographic policies
- Support major projects and new product introductions
- Engage in cross-functional working groups
