Data Centre Technicians(m/w/x)
Deploying and repairing servers, storage, and networking hardware across multiple data centre sites. Technical diploma or certification in IT hardware required. Travel between facilities, hands-on technical support, and component-level upgrades.
Requirements
- Technical diploma/certification in IT hardware, electronics, or related field
- Experience in data centres or similar technical environments
- Strong understanding of IT hardware components
- Basic networking concepts
- Ability to follow procedures with attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
- Teamwork skills
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently between multiple sites
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure settings
- Ability to work in mission-critical operational settings
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 100 lbs
- Comfort working in confined spaces
- Comfort working in elevated temperatures
- Comfort working in noisy environments
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to bend for extended periods
- Ability to move for extended periods
- Manual dexterity for handling small components
- Manual dexterity for handling intricate components
Tasks
- Support hardware operations across multiple data centre sites
- Travel between facilities for hands-on technical support
- Deploy new data centre hardware including servers, storage, and networking equipment
- Perform physical repairs and component-level upgrades
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and connectivity issues
- Support hardware relocations, racking, and reconfiguration
- Conduct decommissioning and safe disposal activities
- Install, test, and maintain structured cabling and network connections
- Utilize hardware and software tools for daily operations
- Maintain accurate documentation of assets, configurations, and maintenance
- Participate in 5S, audit readiness, and continuous improvement activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate changes
- Adhere to security, safety, and operational protocols
- Participate in incident response and emergency onsite support

- Vocational certification
