Critical Facilities Technician(m/w/x)
Operating and repairing UPS, PDU, diesel generators, and HVAC systems for hyperscale data centers. Commercial building blueprint and electrical schematic reading ability required. Focus on 100% uptime in critical infrastructure.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year, 3+ years preferred of hands-on experience with maintenance and repair of industrial electrical and mechanical systems
- Knowledge in operating, maintaining, repairing, inspecting and testing critical electrical distribution systems and HVAC systems
- Ability to read commercial building blueprints and understand electrical single lines and schematics
- Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures related to mechanical and electrical systems needed to run data centers
- Technical writing skills and experience in creating, coordinating, updating and modifying MOPs/SOPs/EOPs for critical facilities equipment
- Work experience in the electrical or mechanical field highly desired
- Completion of formal training in an area of specialty, such as UPS maintenance may be required
- Possession of reliable transportation for reporting to work for shifts or emergencies
- Travel expected to be less than 5%, occasionally for training purposes
- Successful completion of a background check
Tasks
- Operate and maintain critical data center systems
- Perform service repairs on UPS, PDU, and diesel generators
- Manage building controls, chillers, and CRAH units
- Develop reliability reports to ensure 100% uptime
- Coordinate maintenance vendors for safety and equipment protection
- Create MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs for maintenance activities
- Respond to safety and emergency situations
- Organize workflow and adapt to changing priorities
- Collaborate with team members and communicate with vendors
