Requirements
- PaloAlto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or equivalent qualification
- CompTIA Security+ (pre 2020- Code SY0-601. Post 2020 Code SY0-701)
- In-depth PaloAlto firewall configuration, management, and troubleshooting knowledge
- Understanding of networking protocols and security principles
- In-depth network infrastructure and architecture knowledge
- Experience with security policy design and implementation
- In-depth VPN technologies and configurations knowledge
- In-depth scripting and automation skills knowledge
- Strong interpersonal skills for multinational/multidisciplinary environments
- Ability to work autonomously and contribute to team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, results-oriented
- Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with users, stakeholders, and teams
- High motivation, adaptability, and professional integrity
- In-depth practical understanding of NATO Command structures, roles, and context
- In-depth practical knowledge of NATO Enterprise Architecture and DCIS services (OSI Layers 1-7)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - (Code 200-301)
- English language proficiency: NATO SLP 3333 (good/minimum professional)
- Proven English language ability for effective communication, briefings, and articulation of technical matters
- Valid National or NATO Cosmic Top Secret personal security clearance
Tasks
- Deliver advanced technical support for NSATU NATO CIS Services
- Maintain service availability according to defined targets
- Diagnose faults using IT and Data Management Services Management System
- Supervise routine maintenance for NGFW infrastructure and components
- Implement and validate firewall rulesets and security policies
- Ensure configuration changes are assessed, documented, and approved
- Update system documentation to reflect changes and procedures
- Execute and validate backup and restore procedures
- Diagnose and intervene remotely to ensure service continuity
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage Incident, Change, and Release processes
- Provide transparent and auditable evidence of service performance
- Monitor service health, availability, and operational risks
- Support informed decision-making by NCIA
- Facilitate performance evaluation and payment validation
- Produce monthly Service Performance Reports
- Summarize and analyze incidents (P1–P4)
- Report on service availability across NGFW and related domains
- Conduct root cause analysis for critical incidents (P1/P2)
- Implement and track preventive and corrective actions
- Identify and mitigate risks
- Recommend service optimizations and improvements
- Provide initial notifications and regular status updates
- Generate Post-Incident Reports with root cause analysis
- Measure and report KPI breaches
- Calculate applicable service credits
- Monitor service status and availability
- Track active incidents and performance trends
- Identify opportunities for service optimization
- Propose and track corrective actions
- Monitor trends and recurring issues
