Cost Engineering Lead(m/w/x)
Leading methodology definition for flow control and instrumentation products, integrating manufacturability and supply chain at global flow control firm. Significant design-to-cost and Value Analysis/Engineering experience required, LeanCost/Hyperlean software preferred. International collaboration across diverse industries.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering
- Significant experience in cost engineering, design-to-cost, Value Analysis/Engineering
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and should-cost methodologies
- Experience with cost modelling software (preferably LeanCost/Hyperlean)
- Experience in international, matrix organizations
- Fluent English; desirable Italian and/or German
- Autonomy and high proactivity
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to influence decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; cross-functional collaboration
- Comfort in global, cross-cultural environments
- Results-oriented mindset; flexibility in working location/approach
Tasks
- Integrate cost, manufacturability, and supply chain considerations.
- Support informed product decision-making.
- Ensure competitive, sustainable, and robust product solutions.
- Develop the procurement function.
- Define a group-wide Cost Engineering methodology.
- Implement a structured Cost Engineering methodology.
- Align methodology with business objectives.
- Develop robust, transparent cost models using LeanCost/Hyperlean.
- Contribute to ESG and GHG emissions assessments.
- Contribute to product life-cycle cost analysis.
- Support continuous improvement of cost engineering processes.
- Collaborate with strategic suppliers to develop cost models.
- Identify cost drivers.
- Deliver cost reduction initiatives.
- Support should-cost-based negotiations.
- Partner with Category Managers and Procurement teams.
- Engage suppliers early in NPD.
- Support manufacturability, scalability, and cost optimization.
