Construction Surveillance Technician(m/w/x)
As a Construction Surveillance Technician, you will be actively involved in inspecting materials and ensuring compliance with security protocols. This role requires you to conduct thorough inspections, assess risks, and identify potential security threats throughout the construction process.
Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Top Secret/SCI clearance
- Government-approved CST certification
- At least 5 years’ experience in construction security surveillance, technical surveillance countermeasures, industrial or government security, or supervisory construction experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5 years of construction experience
- 5 years in construction security surveillance, technical surveillance countermeasures, industrial or government security
- Previous CST experience at overseas or domestic project sites (2-3 projects)
- Counterintelligence or Intelligence Analysis, Naval Construction Battalion (CB) training
- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers construction training
Tasks
- Inspect construction materials and vehicles using x-ray equipment
- Perform visual inspections of work by uncleared personnel
- Review construction drawings for compliance with specifications
- Conduct risk analysis for surveillance coverage and inspections
- Identify changes in construction that may indicate ulterior motives
- Assess potential locations for clandestine surveillance devices
- Perform security escort and access control duties as assigned
- Understand and apply Technical Surveillance Countermeasures
- Identify unauthorized materials and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)
- Assess industrial and government security requirements
- Implement static security techniques and procedures
- Interpret blueprints and technical specifications
- Apply construction security surveillance techniques
- Execute vehicle and personnel search techniques
- Evaluate security practices for various levels of security
- Produce reports on unauthorized access attempts
- Understand construction terminology and practices
- Assess methods for unauthorized material placement
- Understand technical security devices and monitoring systems
- Report suspicious behavior
- Maintain knowledge of construction safety
- Work outdoors in inclement conditions
- Stand or walk for extended periods
- Work independently in a detail-oriented environment
- Pursue ongoing education in CSS industry practices
- Train and mentor entry-level personnel
