Requirements
- •Degree, vocational qualification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or similar
- •Experience commissioning utility-scale solar PV or large electrical infrastructure
- •Understanding of HV/LV systems, electrical protection, and inverter technology
- •Ability to interpret technical drawings and protection settings
- •Comfort working on construction sites and field-based troubleshooting
- •Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- •Experience with G99 commissioning and DNO witnessing processes
- •HV authorisation (DNO or private network)
- •Familiarity with OMICRON or Megger test kits
- •Experience with hybrid PV + BESS commissioning
- •Experience with SCADA systems, networking, and fiber optics
Education
Bachelor's degree
OR
Vocational certification
Work Experience
approx. 1 - 4 years
Tasks
- •Review design packages and commissioning procedures
- •Inspect installation quality for PV arrays and inverters
- •Verify HV/MV installation readiness for energisation
- •Lead onsite commissioning for solar electrical systems
- •Perform string, IV curve, and transformer testing
- •Validate SCADA systems and protection relay functionality
- •Coordinate with DNOs and ICPs for grid compliance
- •Troubleshoot communication faults and inverter trips
- •Validate system performance and reactive power capability
- •Complete G99 commissioning tests and DNO checks
- •Produce commissioning documentation and handover packages
- •Support PAC/FAC milestones and close punch-list items
