Carbon Analyst(m/w/x)
Monitoring EU ETS, UK ETS, and CBAM regulatory schemes for energy trading. 4-5 years carbon market experience required. Work from abroad up to 20 days in EEA.
Requirements
- 4–5 years experience in carbon markets, emissions trading, energy policy, or commodity analysis
- Solid understanding of European carbon market mechanisms (EU ETS, UK ETS, CBAM)
- Solid understanding of supply-demand modelling
- Solid understanding of regulatory outlooks
- Familiarity with energy market fundamentals (power, gas)
- Familiarity with cross-commodity pricing
- Familiarity with hedging strategies
- Experience with fundamental modelling tools
- Experience with scenario analysis frameworks
- Proficiency in Excel
- Coding (Python, R) is a plus
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to articulate technical carbon market insights

Tasks
- Ensure consistency and transparency in key assumptions and outputs
- Develop and maintain the E.ON View on carbon market fundamentals
- Provide robust input to fundamental modelling frameworks
- Monitor key developments in EU ETS, UK ETS, CBAM, and other regulatory schemes
- Assess impact of regulatory changes on trading strategies and compliance
- Deliver scenario-based analysis and market insights
- Support trading desks, risk teams, strategic planning, and investment assessments
- Collaborate with power, gas, and macroeconomic analysts
- Track auction dynamics, hedging behaviors, industrial demand, and regulatory drivers
- Produce regular internal updates and stakeholder briefings
- Translate technical insights into actionable commercial implications
- Contribute to E.ON’s decarbonization strategy through analytical support
