.AI Training Officer(m/w/x)
Designing and delivering AI training programs for genomics and drug discovery researchers. Advanced degree and hands-on ML/AI development experience required. Flexible working hours and 30 days annual leave.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in pedagogical, computational, quantitative, or life science discipline with computational track record
- Experience in collaborative design, creation, and delivery of technical curricula and training or teaching for diverse scientific audiences
- Demonstrated hands-on experience developing and applying machine learning or AI methods in research or applied science context
- Solid programming skills in Python, including familiarity with ML/DL libraries
- Familiarity with large language models or foundation models as research tools in life science context
- Understanding of responsible AI principles (fairness, bias, transparency, ethics)
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, engaging diverse audiences
- Strong collaboration skills, managing projects with multiple stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills, managing multiple projects independently
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Experience applying AI to biological or biomedical questions
- Experience with course development tools and learning platforms
- Experience contributing to open training communities
- Teaching or training qualification
- Experience with stakeholder analysis, training needs analysis, or competency framework development
Tasks
- Shape EMBL AI training initiatives
- Bridge EMBL AI and Data Science Centre
- Collaborate with EICAT for training infrastructure
- Design and develop AI training programmes
- Deliver training to internal and external researchers
- Translate complex AI methods into practical learning
- Identify training needs with EMBL scientists
- Create high-quality training workshops and courses
- Develop reusable open learning resources
- Run in-person and virtual training events
- Conduct training needs analysis
- Gather learner feedback for improvement
- Represent EMBL-AI in external training communities
- Support grant applications and reporting
- Maintain training communications and web content
- Disseminate EMBL-AI training activities
