As an AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic AM-2, you will maintain and inspect AH-64 systems to ensure they meet FAA standards. Daily tasks will involve troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying aircraft systems while utilizing technical skills and knowledge of military aircraft maintenance.

Requirements

  • Valid FAA A&P certificate or FCC License (with Elements 1 and 3)
  • Minimum of two years aviation maintenance experience
  • US Citizenship for NAC-I Clearance and base access
  • Valid US Passport
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Five years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience
  • Three years aviation maintenance experience, three years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two years on assigned AH-64 MDS
  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance
  • Valid US Passport for deployment to Germany
  • Five years total aviation maintenance experience for TESA approval
  • Travel as required in support of task order
  • Ability to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in tiring positions
  • Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds
  • Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds
  • Immediately deployable to potential combat areas worldwide

Tasks

  • Perform maintenance and inspections on AH-64 systems to FAA standards
  • Execute full-range military tactical aircraft maintenance as an AH-64 mechanic
  • Conduct repair functions including assembly and modification on various Army and DoD aircraft
  • Install, connect, and adjust complete systems such as fuel, heat, lubrication, hydraulic, engine, and transmission
  • Align fuselage parts and balance, align, and install tail rotor assemblies
  • Rig complete flight control systems
  • Incorporate authorized modifications and changes
  • Conduct operational checks of hydraulic and fuel systems using external power sources
  • Inspect and troubleshoot to identify malfunctions
  • Disassemble components to locate issues and adjust, repair, or replace defective parts
  • Utilize a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices effectively
  • Determine when faulty systems can be repaired or require replacement parts
  • Read, apply, and interpret technical data accurately
  • Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance
  • Perform additional duties as required
  • Communicate effectively and adapt to diverse troubleshooting tasks
  • Apply knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and associated systems principles
  • Understand Quality Control, Production, and Supply procedures relevant to job assignments
