AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic AM-2 - (FAA A&P or FCC)(m/w/x)
As an AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic AM-2, you will maintain and inspect AH-64 systems to ensure they meet FAA standards. Daily tasks will involve troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying aircraft systems while utilizing technical skills and knowledge of military aircraft maintenance.
Requirements
- Valid FAA A&P certificate or FCC License (with Elements 1 and 3)
- Minimum of two years aviation maintenance experience
- US Citizenship for NAC-I Clearance and base access
- Valid US Passport
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Five years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience
- Three years aviation maintenance experience, three years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two years on assigned AH-64 MDS
- Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance
- Valid US Passport for deployment to Germany
- Five years total aviation maintenance experience for TESA approval
- Travel as required in support of task order
- Ability to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in tiring positions
- Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds
- Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds
- Immediately deployable to potential combat areas worldwide
Tasks
- Perform maintenance and inspections on AH-64 systems to FAA standards
- Execute full-range military tactical aircraft maintenance as an AH-64 mechanic
- Conduct repair functions including assembly and modification on various Army and DoD aircraft
- Install, connect, and adjust complete systems such as fuel, heat, lubrication, hydraulic, engine, and transmission
- Align fuselage parts and balance, align, and install tail rotor assemblies
- Rig complete flight control systems
- Incorporate authorized modifications and changes
- Conduct operational checks of hydraulic and fuel systems using external power sources
- Inspect and troubleshoot to identify malfunctions
- Disassemble components to locate issues and adjust, repair, or replace defective parts
- Utilize a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices effectively
- Determine when faulty systems can be repaired or require replacement parts
- Read, apply, and interpret technical data accurately
- Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance
- Perform additional duties as required
- Communicate effectively and adapt to diverse troubleshooting tasks
- Apply knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and associated systems principles
- Understand Quality Control, Production, and Supply procedures relevant to job assignments
