- Assist the geographic combatant command with strategic objectives
- Operate JOPES and JPES systems as a Functional Manager
- Link planning results to the Global Force Management System
- Coordinate with USTRANSCOM and component commands
- Identify and document strategic courses of action
- Strengthen partner networks and enhance partner capability
- Address security and stability in key regions
- Set the theater for AFRICOM initiatives
- Interact with partners to advance mutually beneficial programs
- Improve and expand regional security partner relationships
- Brief operational plans to General and Field Officers
- Present theater requirements to directorates and command teams
