Requirements

• Proven ownership of German entity bookkeeping (GmbH or similar)
• AR/AP management
• Bank reconciliations
• Accruals/deferrals management
• Preparation of accurate VAT returns (HGB, German VAT rules)
• Success in transitioning to in-house bookkeeping setup
• Data migration experience
• Chart-of-accounts/VAT code design
• Access management
• SOP creation
• Measurable improvements in close speed and data quality
• Hands-on integration of spend/expense tools with DATEV
• Building and validating tax/account mappings
• Implementation of P2P and expense workflows with audit trails
• Root cause issue resolution
• Strong intercompany and multi-entity experience
• Issuing/booking intercompany invoices
• Performing monthly reconciliations
• Producing audit-ready schedules for consolidation/group reporting
• Exposure to German payroll accounting processes (advantageous)

Tasks

• Perform end-to-end bookkeeping in DATEV Rechnungswesen
• Execute month-end close checklists
• File accurate, on-time VAT returns
• Deliver timely and accurate financial closes
• Maintain clean, well-documented ledgers
• Migrate accounting data and workflows to DATEV
• Define standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Set correct access and mappings in DATEV
• Limit external partner to advisory support
• Maintain robust intercompany billing and reconciliations
• Enforce consistent chart-of-accounts and documentation
• Provide validated schedules for group reporting
• Provide validated schedules for year-end statements
• Integrate Yokoy and other feeder systems with DATEV
• Validate tax and account mappings
• Design audited procure-to-pay and expense workflows
• Eliminate duplicate entries and posting errors
• Post and reconcile payroll-related entries
• Deliver clear status and reconciled data on time
• Flag risks for timely closings, filings, and audits
