Translational Medicine Academy fellow for Pharmacokinetics Sciences Modeling & Simulaton(m/w/x)
Developing physiology-based PK/PD modeling frameworks linking drug exposure to B-cell and plasma cell kinetics. PhD in quantitative sciences and hands-on mechanistic modeling experience required. Cross-functional exposure, thematic introduction series.
Requirements
- PhD in quantitative pharmacology/pharmacometrics, bioengineering, systems biology, applied mathematics, biostatistics, computational biology, or related discipline
- Hands-on experience building and evaluating mechanistic models (ODE/PDE, compartmental, systems pharmacology, PK/PD)
- Programming proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB SimBiology; reproducible, modular, well-documented code
- Experience with biological datasets (preclinical/clinical): cleaning, visualization, model fitting, interpretation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; translate complex quantitative findings into clear biological/project implications
- Background in immunology, particularly B-cell biology, lymphoid tissue organization, or immune cell trafficking
- Experience modeling biologics and/or cell therapies, including target engagement and cell-killing dynamics
- Familiarity with PBPK or multi-compartment modeling of immune-cell dynamics in cell-based and T-cell-redirecting therapies
- Familiarity with PBPK concepts and software (mrgsolve, nlmixr2, NONMEM, Monolix, SimBiology, Stan, or comparable)
- Coding portfolio related to mechanistic modelling or systems biology
- Eligibility to work in Switzerland
Tasks
- Develop physiology-based PK/PD modeling framework
- Link drug exposure to B-cell and plasma cell kinetics
- Integrate translational evidence from in vitro, in vivo, and early clinical data
- Estimate parameters and quantify uncertainty
- Connect tissue depletion kinetics to immune-reset biomarkers
- Inform decision-making for B-cell depleting modalities
- Communicate results through presentations, reports, and manuscripts
- Partner with immunology, translational, and modeling stakeholders
- Own end-to-end, production-ready modeling platform
- Expand expertise in quantitative pharmacology and immunology
- Optimize dose and schedule for B-cell depleting therapies
- Experience impact of translational modeling in drug development
