Requirements

  • •MS/PhD in CE/EE/CS or related field with focus on CPU architecture or microarchitecture
  • •Deep expertise in CPU design, PPA optimisation, and ISA extensions
  • •Skilled in performance modeling and simulation, cycle-accurate and trace-driven analysis
  • •Experienced in benchmarking and workload characterisation
  • •Proficient in RTL design and validation, including simulation and synthesis
  • •Knowledge of compiler/toolchain integration and low-level software development
  • •Strong analytical, collaborative, and communication skills
  • •Fluency in English
  • •Ability to work from European offices or remotely

Education

Master's degree
OR
Doctoral / PhD

Work Experience

approx. 1 - 4 years

Tasks

  • •Evaluate architectural proposals independently
  • •Research, design, and evaluate CPU microarchitectural components
  • •Analyze and optimize PPA trade-offs for AI, HPC, and cloud workloads
  • •Build and validate performance and functional models
  • •Run simulations and correlate results to RTL
  • •Develop and evaluate architectural extensions within RISC-V
  • •Propose, model, and prototype new mechanisms for efficiency
  • •Collaborate with hardware, compiler, and system teams
  • •Stay updated on trends in CPU, memory, interconnect, and AI architectures
