Requirements

  • •Experience with distributed storage technologies
  • •Design and development of large distributed data management systems
  • •Experience with SQL-based databases
  • •Experience in software design, architecture, and continuous integration
  • •Excellent Python programming skills
  • •Strong knowledge in distributed systems, networks, and databases
  • •Knowledge of scientific computing and Kubernetes (advantageous)
  • •English proficiency and commitment to learn French
  • •National of CERN Member or Associate Member State
  • •Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • •Master's degree with 2-6 years experience or PhD
  • •No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract

Tasks

  • •Evolve storage interaction workflows to integrate new research infrastructures
  • •Develop and refine authentication and authorization workflows
  • •Design and build features for the Rucio catalogue component
  • •Perform DevOps tasks to operate the project's Rucio deployment
  • •Contribute to the large-scale evolution of the Rucio architecture
  • •Collaborate with the open-source community and internal teams
  • •Design and evolve the core data management system
