Requirements
- •PhD in materials science, physics, or related discipline
- •Experience with thin-film deposition, sputtering, or HiPIMS
- •Experience with wide-bandgap and piezoelectric materials
- •Experience with structural, electrical, and functional characterization
- •Experience with 200 mm wafer processing as an advantage
- •Ability to run experiments and optimize materials
- •Strong documentation and reporting discipline
- •Collaboration with internal teams and industrial partners
- •Interest in applied research on WBG materials
- •Cleanroom experience and willingness to work there
- •Experience with successful funding applications as an advantage
- •Skills in office tools and data analysis software
- •Very good command of English
- •German language skills as an asset
- •Respectful, empathetic team player with communication skills
- •Willingness to relocate to Villach, Austria

Tasks
- •Develop thin films for piezoelectric and wide-band-gap applications
- •Design and execute experiments to optimize nitride thin-film materials
- •Characterize structural and functional properties of deposited films
- •Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize device performance
- •Define strategies for material optimization and scientific investigations
- •Identify novel material properties and new application fields
- •Standardize procedures and workflows within the research unit
- •File IP disclosures for new innovations and discoveries
- •Publish research in journals and present at conferences
- •Contribute to project acquisition and management workflows
