Senior Director Embedded Software Components(m/w/x)
Leading an international R&D organization for embedded software components, making critical design decisions for hearing care solutions. Extensive leadership experience in MedTech R&D required. Harmonized processes across sites, 4-day work week.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, or technical field
- Extensive leadership experience in R&D, ideally international/multi-site
- Strong strategic planning aligned with business objectives
- Solid understanding of Embedded Software technical domains
- MedTech R&D experience, expertise in Scape fields is advantage
- Resilience and ability to perform under pressure/uncertainty
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset, ownership, accountability
- Analytical and strategic thinker, focus on continuous improvement
- Knowledge of Medical Device Regulations is advantage
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, engage/influence stakeholders
- Collaborative leadership, build trust, foster team ownership, inspire vision
- High self-awareness, emotional intelligence, ethical behavior
- Pragmatic and impact-oriented, focus on outcomes and efficiency
- Ability to navigate change and drive transformation globally
- Fluent in English
- Knowledge of German or French is a plus
- Proficiency in office and project management tools (Jira, Confluence, planning tools)
Tasks
- Define and lead a high-performing organization for Embedded Software components
- Drive strategic direction and execution of Embedded Software components
- Make critical design decisions balancing component reuse and product-specific requirements
- Ensure engineering excellence and cross-site alignment through harmonized processes
- Account for efficient project execution, meeting scope, quality, timeline, and cost expectations
- Maintain focus on both short-term objectives and long-term sustainability
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders for seamless integration of Embedded Software
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and high individual responsibility
- Optimize organizational setup and interfaces within R&D and across functions
- Enable strong global collaboration and leverage diverse, distributed teams
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Initiate, lead, and support organizational change and transformation initiatives
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team leaders
- Take accountability for talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement
- Partner with HR on people-related topics and organizational development
- Define and implement global standards, processes, and best practices
- Ensure compliance with quality standards across development activities
- Contribute to and support project reviews, approvals, and audits
- Manage infrastructure budget and cost efficiency
- Ensure access to modern, efficient, and scalable infrastructure, tools, and equipment
