Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in scientific, business, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years business development/sales experience
  • Background in scientific/technical pharmaceutical contract service sales (CDMO), API manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industries
  • Experience/understanding of proposal development process
  • Experience/understanding of business quotes
  • Experience/understanding of budgeting
  • Experience/understanding of managing to defined timelines
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Salesforce.com
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers' scientists and technical staff
  • Ability to interact effectively with Catalent's scientists and technical staff
  • Proven track record with new account penetration
  • Proven ability to organize and plan work
  • Proven ability to manage travel
  • Proven ability to balance multiple priorities effectively
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%

Tasks

  • Evaluate contract development and manufacturing opportunities
  • Identify and secure new business for micronization of APIs
  • Manage business relationships with existing customers
  • Drive significant growth for Catalent
  • Build Catalent’s brand in the marketplace
  • Identify and pursue micronization business opportunities
  • Identify key account decision-makers and influencers
  • Prepare for customer calls and visits
  • Document and validate customer needs
  • Prepare and present quotations for project development
  • Cooperate with R&D and Contract Management
  • Negotiate development and commercial supply agreements
  • Manage pricing, contract extensions, and forecasting
  • Conduct periodic business review meetings
  • Support customer service-related issues
  • Prioritize time on high-impact opportunities
  • Understand customer decision-making processes
  • Set and achieve account objectives
  • Cross-sell Catalent service offerings
  • Define alternative solutions
  • Represent business unit service offerings to Global Account Teams
  • Participate in internal sales training
  • Participate in internal process teams
  • Attend trade show exhibits and professional associations
  • Research R&D programs of existing and potential customers
  • Present Catalent’s micronization service offerings
  • Communicate value to customers
  • Identify opportunities for innovation
  • Evaluate sales results and trends
  • Contribute to territory business plans
  • Maintain communication with scientists and operations staff
  • Use CRM and other communication tools
  • Respond rapidly to customer inquiries and issues
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
