Science Education Workshops Developer(m/w/x)
Developing and piloting accessible weekend education lab formats for young learners at a nuclear research organization. Experience developing inquiry-based learning activities for 5-12 year olds required. 30 days paid leave, 2 weeks annual closure.
Requirements
- Passion for engaging young learners, families, and students in hands-on science
- Ability to spark curiosity in learners
- Excitement for developing and piloting accessible weekend education lab formats
- Experience in science education, including working with children aged 5-12
- Experience developing and facilitating inquiry-based learning activities
- Experience communicating scientific concepts clearly and engagingly to diverse audiences
- Experience with particle physics education (asset)
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills
- Ability to plan, schedule, and deliver education initiatives
- Fast learner, able to quickly absorb new scientific concepts and pedagogical approaches
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to tailor messages to different audiences
- Ability and motivation to work effectively in a team
- Experience in a large international organization
- Spoken and written English or French
- Commitment to learn the other language (English/French)
- Nationality of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Professional background in Science Education, STEM, or related field
- Master's degree with 2-6 years post-graduation professional experience OR PhD with no more than 3 years post-graduation professional experience
- No prior CERN fellow or graduate contract
