Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field
  • At least 7 years' experience in QHSE role
  • Experience in high risk industry or upper tier SEVESO/COMAH site
  • NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Management or equivalent (IEMA)
  • SEVESO III / 12th BImSchV specialist training
  • Hazardous substances & TRGS/ATEX training
  • HAZOP, LOPA, process safety competence
  • Quality Management (QMF/QMA/QMB-TüV)
  • Strong knowledge of management systems, standards (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 140001)
  • Strong knowledge of methodologies (FMEA, Risk Assessments, 8D)
  • Familiarity with DIN standards
  • Familiarity with chemical industry regulations
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks
  • Familiarity with German authorities
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • German language proficiency
  • English language proficiency
  • Skilled in root cause analysis
  • Skilled in risk assessment
  • Skilled in CAPA implementation
  • Comfortable with management systems
  • Comfortable with statistical analysis tools
  • Comfortable with reporting platforms

Tasks

  • Oversee Quality, Safety & Environment Management Systems
  • Manage internal and external audits
  • Control document processes
  • Lead Quality Control team
  • Ensure alignment with global standards
  • Monitor industry regulations (e.g., REACH, ISO, GMP)
  • Support external audits and inspections
  • Manage environmental permitting and compliance reporting
  • Handle external complaints and waste management
  • Oversee H&S processes
  • Ensure SEVESO and legal compliance
  • Manage risk assessment and accident investigation
  • Develop emergency plans
  • Lead QHSE issue investigations
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, R&D, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams
  • Embed QHSE throughout product lifecycle
  • Track and report QHSE KPIs and trends
  • Initiate improvement initiatives
  • Address customer complaints
  • Ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Maintain strong customer relationships
  • Champion Lean, 5S, Six Sigma
  • Promote KPI tracking and training
  • Reduce complaints and recordable incidents
