Requirements
- Degree in electrical engineering, physics, or equivalent work experience
- At least 3 years corporate experience in international patent practice or project management
- Strong ability to extract and communicate technical and legal concepts clearly and concisely
- Ability to identify, review, and explain patent-related matters and provide IP advice
- Experience in searching and retrieving information from IP databases and registers
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
- Fluent German language skills
- Education in intellectual property law (e.g., Juris Doctorate or LL.M.)
- R&D experience in digital signal processing, microelectronics, (micro)systems technology, or medical technology
- Patent attorney candidates and qualified patent attorneys encouraged to apply
Tasks
- Support inventors and patent attorneys in creativity workshops
- Prepare invention disclosures
- Conduct prior art searches
- Assist in patent prosecution and maintenance decisions
- Oversee Freedom-to-Operate investigations
- Perform patent database searches
- Screen patent activities
- Review competitors' patent publications
- Provide IP training to inventors, technical experts, and business partners
- Support internal users of the electronic patent management system
- Handle administrative tasks for the Patent and Design Rights Team
- Manage organizational tasks for the Patent and Design Rights Team
- Assist with accounting tasks for the Patent and Design Rights Team
