Requirements

- FPGA firmware development and simulation
- Python for test automation, data acquisition, analysis, reporting
- High-speed PCB knowledge
- Clear technical documentation
- Collaborative, structured engineering approach
- Radiation qualification experience (SEE and TID) is a plus
- Familiarity with ASIC design is a plus
- Knowledge of Ethernet networking stack is a plus
- Spoken and written English
- Commitment to learn French
- National of CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Professional background in Electronics Engineering or related field
- Master's degree with 2 to 6 years post-graduation experience
- PhD with no more than 3 years post-graduation experience
- Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
Tasks
- Evaluate and qualify high-speed, radiation-tolerant communication ASIC
- Define and execute electrical and functional test plans
- Develop FPGA firmware for test automation
- Create Python tools for data acquisition and analysis
- Design high-speed test hardware including PCBs and fixtures
- Review and improve signal integrity in test hardware
- Plan radiation qualification campaigns
- Support Single Event Effects (SEE) experiments
- Support Total Ionising Dose (TID) experiments
