Requirements
- Master's Degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience in geometrical and functional integration of complex systems
- Designing mechanical assemblies using 3D CAD tools
- Performing thermal and structural calculations with FEA methods
- Writing technical specifications and following up on supplies
- Planning and coordination of field activities
- Designing and building PLC-based data acquisition and control systems
- Assembly of mechanical structures and equipment
- Knowledge and application of numerical modelling in solid mechanics
- Integration of mechanical systems
- Production of 2D drawings and 3D models
- Knowledge of design codes and compliance verification
- Knowledge and application of instrumentation and measurement techniques
- Delivering high quality work on time
- Proposing improvements to procedures, processes and methodologies
- Breaking down complex problems into manageable components
- Spoken and written English or French
- Commitment to learn the other language (English/French)
Tasks
- Join CMS experiment Engineering & Integration team
- Work on detector upgrade for HL-LHC
- Design and construct new detector environmental monitoring system
- Integrate and commission new detectors
- Contribute to CMS experiment upgrades for HL-LHC
- Participate in multidisciplinary projects
- Lead integration and commissioning of CMS environmental monitoring system
- Integrate accelerator elements in detector forward region
- Write technical specifications for CMS detector upgrades
- Present work to CMS Collaboration via reports and talks
