Requirements

  • Technical certificate or general secondary education or equivalent relevant experience in Electromechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical manufacturing and assembly of complex electromechanical equipment, including simple conventional machining
  • Experience with procurement follow-up and inventory handling for components, spare parts and tooling
  • Experience with quality documentation, compiling tests and measurements reports, ensuring component traceability
  • Previous experience in cryogenics or superconducting systems (asset)
  • Assembly of mechanical structures and equipment
  • Knowledge and application of manufacturing methods and work preparation
  • Manufacturing of mechanical parts
  • Production of 2D drawings and 3D models
  • Construction, test and installation of electromechanical equipment and systems
  • Teamwork skills: working well in groups and readily fitting into a team
  • Accountability: taking responsibility for own actions and decisions
  • Flexibility: adapting quickly and resourcefully to shifting priorities and requirements
  • Effective communication: listening actively and letting others speak
  • Spoken and written English or French, with commitment to learn the other language
  • Valid driving licence

Tasks

  • Assemble cryostats and electromechanical equipment
  • Test superconducting accelerator systems
  • Contribute to production and installation
  • Maintain and perform hands-on interventions
  • Intervene in the LHC tunnel for installation
  • Maintain or dismantle cryoassemblies
  • Manufacture and modify parts using machining
  • Handle logistics of components and stock
  • Launch and follow up manufacturing requests
  • Perform acceptance tests
  • Prepare production documentation
  • Create quality control documents
