Requirements

  • Master's Degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience in geometrical and functional integration of complex systems
  • Designing mechanical assemblies using 3D CAD tools
  • Performing thermal and structural calculations with FEA methods
  • Writing technical specifications and following up on supplies
  • Planning and coordination of field activities
  • Designing and building PLC-based data acquisition and control systems
  • Assembly of mechanical structures and equipment
  • Knowledge and application of numerical modelling in solid mechanics
  • Integration of mechanical systems
  • Production of 2D drawings and 3D models
  • Knowledge of design codes and compliance verification
  • Knowledge and application of instrumentation and measurement techniques
  • Delivering high quality work on time
  • Proposing improvements to procedures, processes and methodologies
  • Breaking down complex problems into manageable components
  • Spoken and written English or French
  • Commitment to learn the other language (English/French)

Tasks

  • Join CMS experiment Engineering & Integration team
  • Work on detector upgrade for HL-LHC
  • Design and construct new detector environmental monitoring system
  • Integrate and commission new detectors
  • Contribute to CMS experiment upgrades for HL-LHC
  • Participate in multidisciplinary projects
  • Lead integration and commissioning of CMS environmental monitoring system
  • Integrate accelerator elements in detector forward region
  • Write technical specifications for CMS detector upgrades
  • Present work to CMS Collaboration via reports and talks
