Requirements
- •Relevant experience with Undergraduate, Graduate, or Doctorate degree
- •Degree in Law, Refugee Law, or relevant field
- •HCR Learning Program
- •Excellent legal research, analytical, and drafting skills
- •UNHCR protection learning programmes or equivalent courses
- •Drafting, documentation, and legal research skills
- •Knowledge of English and UN working language
- •Professionalism, integrity, and respect for diversity
- •Technical knowledge of internal displacement law
- •Experience supporting law and policy-making for IDPs
- •Strong analytical capacities and strategic thinking
- •Proven track record in drafting analytical documents
- •Excellent interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and coordination skills
- •Knowledge of French or Spanish
- •Desirable knowledge of Spanish, French, or Arabic
- •Bachelor of Arts in Law
- •UNHCR HCR Learning Program

- •Monitor legal developments and doctrine
- •Advocate for proper legal interpretations
- •Draft position papers and guidelines
- •Formulate comprehensive protection strategies
- •Liaise with internal and external units
- •Engage with governments and NGOs
- •Manage complex individual legal cases
- •Represent the office in high-level meetings
- •Prepare protection documents and policies
- •Develop and implement project proposals
- •Identify and manage operational risks
- •Produce guidance for IDP emergencies
- •Research global and national legal processes
- •Analyze laws to facilitate rights access
- •Promote legislative reforms and judicial engagement
- •Contribute expertise to durable solution initiatives
- •Collaborate with the Global Solutions Hub
