Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD program enrollment or degree completed within 12 months of start date, preferably in biochemistry, pharmacology, or molecular biology
  • Eagerness to start career in pharmaceutical industry
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture techniques
  • Experience with primary or established blood-brain barrier models (e.g., transwell setups)
  • Technical skills in cell engineering (plasmid transfection, viral transduction)
  • Generation of engineered reporter cell lines
  • Execution of fluorescence and luminescence-based in vitro assays
  • Basic data analysis and experimental reporting
  • Interest in translational science and drug delivery systems
  • Fundamental understanding of pharmacokinetics
  • Innovative problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • English proficiency
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Teamwork skills
  • Non-EU/Non-EFTA citizens: university confirmation of mandatory internship
  • Non-EU/Non-EFTA citizens: continuous enrollment in university or PhD program for internship duration

Tasks

  • Generate experimental data for biologics in neurosciences
  • Establish in vitro assay for antibody uptake and transcytosis
  • Study antibody recycling to understand PK properties
  • Develop in vitro-in vivo correlation (IVIVC)
  • Collaborate in multi-disciplinary team
  • Gain hands-on experience with advanced methodologies
  • Work with in vitro cellular models and bioluminescence assays
  • Conduct transwell assays and microscopy techniques
  • Develop and optimize in vitro models like BBB transwell systems
  • Support drug development with quantitative kinetic methodologies
  • Evaluate real-time cellular target engagement
  • Use advanced split-luciferase technology
  • Analyse and document experimental results
  • Maintain high scientific standards in documentation
