Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Security Management, Criminology, Law Enforcement, Public Security, Risk Management, or related field
- Formal training or certification in security management, crisis management, law enforcement command, or protective security
- Proven experience managing security strategy, contracts, and operations in institutional or large industrial environments
- Solid background in risk assessment, threat analysis, incident management, corrective measures, and business continuity planning
- Good knowledge of Swiss and/or French legal/judicial frameworks, or comparable national systems
- Experience managing security arrangements for high-level visits, delegations, or major events
- Capacity to translate operational expertise into clear security procedures and measures

Tasks
- Shape and implement CERN’s security strategy
- Protect people, assets, and infrastructure
- Define and maintain security policies
- Propose and recommend security strategies to Directorate
- Lead and organize the Security Service
- Manage team responsibilities and performance
- Prioritize and allocate security activities
- Plan and supervise special security arrangements
- Represent Security Service internally and externally
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Define contractual strategy for security services
- Prepare and manage tenders and contracts
- Monitor service quality and performance
- Ensure compliance with agreed standards
- Define security requirements for new projects
- Recommend security improvements for renovations
- Monitor developments in security technologies
- Propose security improvements for CERN’s environment
