Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Treasury, or related field
  • Extensive financial services experience in international environments
  • Experience applying European Commission financial rules (H2020/Horizon Europe) or practical implementation exposure
  • Knowledge of Funding Programmes
  • Financial reporting and analysis
  • Accounting control and analysis
  • Process analysis, definition, and improvement
  • Personnel and material resources planning
  • Problem-solving: assimilating information, identifying issues, formulating conclusions
  • Self-management: autonomous work, proactive task engagement
  • Effective communication: expressing opinions logically and concisely

Tasks

  • Apply European Commission financial rules
  • Manage financial aspects of projects
  • Ensure compliance with EC and CERN rules
  • Analyze EC project proposals for funding schemes
  • Develop strategic budgets for EC projects
  • Define and manage project budgets and expenses
  • Monitor project budgets and expenses
  • Propose corrective actions for budget issues
  • Follow up on EC projects financially
  • Provide financial advice on grant matters
  • Advise internal teams and external partners
  • Prepare regular financial reports
  • Meet reporting deadlines for internal and external audiences
  • Propose improvements to internal financial procedures
