Requirements
- Relevant EAL teaching qualification
- Teaching qualification in English and/or EAL
- Master’s degree in suitable area of pedagogy (preferred)
- Successful experience teaching Middle School students
- Experience teaching non-native English speakers
- Experience in international school setting (ideal)
- Ability to meet needs of students with diagnosed learning differences
- Experience as a homeroom advisor (asset)
- English as mother tongue
- Ability to integrate educational technology to enhance learning
- Fostering positive student relationships (firm, empathetic, fair)
- Good organizational skills
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Effective written communication skills
- Teamwork skills
- Meeting tight deadlines
- Implementing effective classroom strategies
- Implementing effective differentiation strategies
- Awareness of Child Protection guidelines
- Observing professional distance from students
- Understanding and embracing diversity and inclusion
- Standing against discrimination
Tasks
- Encourage and support students to enjoy learning opportunities
- Teach English and EAL to Middle School Secondaire students
- Assist students in discovering and developing individual strengths
- Foster lifelong global connections among students
- Create a caring and inclusive learning environment
- Prioritize students' health and well-being
- Promote Collège du Léman’s RISE values
- Engage and motivate students of all abilities
- Collaborate with colleagues to harmonize lessons
- Assess student progress according to school guidelines
- Enter grades into the online grade book
- Write school reports and meet completion timelines
- Use and develop existing teaching resources
- Carry out additional assigned duties
