Testing and repairing electronics equipment for particle accelerators. Basic lab equipment testing and calibration experience needed. 30 days paid leave, CERN health insurance.
Requirements
- Interest in electronics field
- Basic experience in testing, calibration, maintenance of lab equipment
- User support or customer-oriented services experience (asset)
- Knowledge and application of instrumentation and measurement techniques
- Operation and maintenance of data-acquisition, monitoring, control systems
- Application of modular low and high-voltage power supplies
- Spoken and written English or French, learn basics of other language
- National of CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Never had CERN fellow or graduate contract before
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree holders not eligible
- Entry Level experience
Tasks
- Test electronics equipment and instrumentation
- Identify faults in electronic devices
- Perform firmware and hardware repairs
- Create and update test procedure documentation
- Maintain hardware and software of test benches
- Collaborate with responsible technicians
- Troubleshoot equipment issues
- Evaluate new electronic devices
- Support daily operations of the electronics pool service
- Provide occasional support to service users
Education
- High school diploma
