Requirements

  • Electrical/automation technician diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three years experience in instrumentation, automation, or E&A
  • Strong expertise in process instrumentation, calibration, control, and tuning
  • Working knowledge of PLC/HMI programming, electrical safety, maintenance
  • Experience in food processing, hygienic engineering, food safety (advantageous)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational skills, continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
  • Fluent English and French (spoken and written)

Tasks

  • Support Nestlé Research Lausanne Pilot Plant and laboratories
  • Ensure technical soundness, safety, and compliance
  • Contribute to instrumentation maintenance and calibration programs
  • Provide first-level E&A diagnostics
  • Support projects, technology upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with pilot plant, laboratory, engineering, quality, and safety teams
  • Ensure reliable operations aligned with Nestlé Corporate Engineering, Safety, Quality, and Food Safety standards
  • Leverage digital tools and data analytics for equipment data management
  • Monitor pilot plant instrumentation for optimal performance
  • Reduce planned and unplanned downtime
  • Execute instrument maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and on-call support
  • Coordinate with Pilot Plant, laboratory users, QA, Engineering, and Safety teams
  • Resolve E&A issues
  • Determine internal repair or external service solutions
  • Maintain and apply calibration SOPs, technical documentation, and corporate engineering standards
  • Produce data analytics reports
  • Communicate insights using digital tools and dashboards
  • Support automation projects and commissioning activities
  • Introduce new technologies
  • Apply strict safety, food safety, and quality standards
  • Maintain zero tolerance for unsafe situations
